Praying For Miracles

We have been doing a lot of praying in the last several months. We received a match for a little girl on February 6, 2015. She moved from the orphanage, to live with a foster family until the adoption is complete and we can travel to pick her up. The foster family is a Canadian couple in Taiwan who are missionaries with OMF International. They have sacrificially opened their home and have seen so much growth in our little girl since she moved in with them.

We have not been given a specific timeline other than to expect to travel around one year after we received our referral, and then if its sooner it’s a bonus. We know families who have traveled in under a year, and that is what we’re praying for.

Specifically, we’re praying to go in September. We’re praying this for a few reasons, the foster family is coming back to Canada for seven months of home assignment starting on September 27. At that point, if we are not able to travel yet, our daughter would be moved back to the orphanage or into a new foster home. We are praying to be with her before this happens since the more broken attachments she experiences, the tougher it may be for her to bond with us. Also, she will be two years old on September 20 and we’d so love to celebrate with her. I am praying that God will work this miracle, but also (and this is really the hardest part) praying that I will trust that God knows the best timing. Not the best timing by my rational, but for His glory.

This week, we got to a new step, when we finally received documents from Taiwan to sign and notarize. Next they will have to be legalized, which will take a month or two, before they go back to Taiwan. We’re praying this moves quickly!

Please pray with us that we’d trust God and that we’d receive the miracle we’re asking for. We know that with God all things are possible

“He does wonderful things that can’t be understood.
He does miracles that can’t even be counted.” Job 9:10
