Books Written By First/Birth Mothers

I am really passionate about adoption education and this education would not be complete without the voices of the mothers who have experienced the loss of their children to adoption. Adoption can be so incredibly beautiful, but we wear blinders if we miss out on acknowledging and grieving the connection between mother’s and their biological children. All families need to read books from the perspective of a biological mother.

This page is filled with books that I recommend so you know when you click a link that it is for a book that I truly believe will be of benefit to you. I do not own rights to or offer any type of guarantee for these purchases, however, purchasing through these links allows me to adding new reviews. I hope your family learns as much from these books as we have.

(I have since added a few books that are NOT written by First Mothers, but focus on sharing from that point of view. See notes under image.)
